Bitcoin enters the politics stage
Bitcoin, the virtual coin, can, from now on, be used to make political contributions.
However, the Political Action Committee which will benefit from Bitcoin donations is obliged to exchange them into dollars before using the money. In addition, no anonymous donations are allowed.
Although the request filed to the US Federal Election Commission set the limit for virtual donations at $100, it remains unclear whether this limit still stands.
Still, the US Securities and Exchange Commission issued a warning to investors, highlighting that Bitcoin ‘does not have an established track record of credibility and trust.’
