Bill Gates, not Microsoft’s largest shareholder anymore
After selling almost 8 million shares of Microsoft over the past two days, Bill Gates has lost, for the first time in the company’s history, his title as largest individual shareholder.
His total now measures up to $330 million, below Microsoft’s former CEO, Steve Ballmer, who has $333 million in shares.
Bill Gates is currently more interested in investing his earnings in the Bill & Melinda Foundation which has spent, since its birth in 1997, $28.3 billion fighting hunger and poverty.
