AT&T; ready to spend 50 billions on Direct TV
AT&T is in the middle of something big. Media in the States reports the giant telecommunication company is about to close a 50 billion dollar deal with Direct TV.
This would allow AT&T to vastly expand its coverage across the US. The American company is still competing with cable companies for customers who want a full pack of services such as TV, internet connection and fixed of mobile home phone.
The deal is massive because of Direct TV. The American broadcast satellite service provider has more than 20 million subscribers and it is the second largest in the country. AT&T has been experiencing with direct TV and its own provider has four times less subscribers.
Neither company confirmed the deal, but leaked information reveals AT&T would have to drop large amount of cash and also stock for the move. Financial specialists put the deal in the near vicinity of 50 billion dollars.
