
2.3 million euros for those in need
The biggest annual charity event in Europe gathered in excess of 2 million euros for people with HIV and AIDS. The Vinna Life Ball 2014 edition was as always a succes when it comes to gathering funds for those in need.
The annual Life Ball is organized by Aids Life, a charitable association and its the primary support for Austrian AIDS since the first edition in 1993, but alto to others. “We had benn preparing ourselves for one of the worst years ever, but it wasn't the case and this is a wonderful reward for the entire team,” said Gery Keszler, Life Ball organiser after gathering just shy above 2.3 million euros.
At least half a million euros will go to Aids Hilfen Osterreich an organization that provides help for people affected by these 2 diseases in Austria. According to their statistics there are somewhere between 12,000 and 14,000 people in Austria living with HIV.
Aids Life is also a partner to other non-profit organizations like the Clinton Health Access Initiative that has large projects like mother to child transmission of HIV on the African continent, but also in Ukraine and other parts of Europe.
