16 million dollar diamond sold in Geneva
The Graff Yellow Diamond is one of the most famous in the world and it was recently sold in Geneva. The 110 carat diamond was estimated before the auction between 15 and 25 million dollars, but it barely reached the minimum value.
Bolted on a ring, the Graff Diamond was acquired by an unanimous woman. She was the highest bidder with 16,3 million US dollars. The Graff Vivid diamond is one of the largest yellow diamonds in the world. The jewel was auctioned in the “Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels” auction.
According to the auctioneer, Sotherby's event gathered 141.1 million US dollars. The previous record held by a yellow diamond was 12.3 million dollars. The “Sun drop” yellow diamond was also auctioned at Sotherby's in 2011.
