$10m for Apple’s Ahrendts for no reason
One month’s work will bring Apple head of retail an almost $10 million bonus for no specific performance accomplishments.
Angela Ahrendts, former Burberry CEO, joined Apple on May 1 and handles retail and online store operations. On June 1 she is set to receive her fist bonus batch of $9.8 million out of a $68 million bonus plan spread over four years.
The extra pay will come in the form of Apple in stock, numbering a total of 113,000 shares.
Ahrendts is also to receive $10.5 million worth of shares from Burberry as a thank you for reinvigorating the company and helping it gain a strong following in China and emerging markets.
Under Ahrendts watchful eye, Burberry skyrocketed to £7 billion from £2.1 billion.
As a consequence, she became the highest paid CEO in the UK with a $27 million income for 2012.
